RCTA Private Lessons

RCTA Private Lessons

The RCTA offers private and semi-private lessons with several experienced teaching pros, including Head Pro Froi Silva, Program Director Ben Levin, Gary Yee, Maurice Hardy, Carlos Carrera, and Errol Campbell. RCTA membership is NOT required to take private lessons, but you will need to create a Guest Login to book lessons on this site.

All private lessons with any of the RCTA pros are $70.00 per hour. Semi-private (2 or 3 people) are $45.00 per person. (If you signup and pay for a semi-private lesson for two people and then show up with three participants, we will trust you to bring $45 in cash).

How to book

In order to book a private lesson, you need to be logged in. You can log-in as an RCTA member or you can log-in as non-member to take private lessons. Note that if you are not a member and use the member log-in, the system will charge you for membership.

Go the RCTA Private Lessons Schedule page and click through to find the day you want. Select an available spot and fill in the your name, email and phone number when asked. Then complete the payment form using a credit card. You will be emailed a confirmation and a receipt.

If you want to book and pay cash at the time of your lesson or if you want to book a series of 10 or more, contact Ben Levin at ben@RCTA.info.

Same- and next-day bookings are not available. Availability begins the day after tomorrow and extends anywhere from two weeks to six weeks, depending on the time of year. If you are looking for a lesson later than 2 weeks from now and nothing is available, check back soon.

There may be nothing available at the hour you want because of other RCTA programming, such as group clinics that are using the teaching court(s). For example, from Monday through Friday, after work, private lessons are not available because the teaching court is used for adult clinics and the demand for playing courts is too high to open a second teaching court.

Generally, one court is available for private instruction; however, during non-peak hours, a second court may be used.

Cancellation policy: If you cancel your lesson with 72 or more hours notice, you will be allowed to rebook for another session. Cancellations with less than 72 hours notice will not be refunded or re-bookable.

Rain policy: If the lesson court is closed due to bad weather, you will be allowed to rebook for another session. It's always a good idea to check the RCTA Hotline to see if the courts are closed by rain. Be sure to listen to the entire message. After a rain, the first dry court will always go to the instructor, so sometimes lessons will be held for a few hours before the facility reopens. If you are rained out, you can rebook on the website. Click the rainout option on the payment form when submitting your request.

Unauthorized teaching is not allowed on public courts. Anyone giving or receiving paid lessons or hitting are liable to be to lose all playing privileges.
